Version 20081220.2 Available

20081220.2 Fixes a couple problems that cropped up that I just could not wait to put a fix out for.

  • Removed a bit of code that was replacing all periods with spaces. This was originally added in 20081220 to support those file names names that used periods instead of spaces. Unfortunately this inadvertently causes failed lookups for shows that have to have the period in them, such as “Mr. Bean”. Guess some of you will just have to learn to use your space bar.
  • .2 also fixes a problem with the failed lookup option sometimes causing a file not to get tagged even though a lookup was successful.
  • Also removed a few debug messages that were accidentally left in the previous version.

I didn’t really know where to post this but since this is the last release according to the blog I post it here. I had the software working previously, but since downloading the latest (20090101) on my new iMac, atomic parsley always crashes on a file that is found in the database. I have tried different files and file names without success. Is this a known problem or is there something that I can do?

In any case, I hope I/you can get it working again since it’s a wonderful tool that I have been looking for, for a long time!

If it is atomicParsley crashing, there is likely little I can do about it. Atomic Parsley crashes are usually caused by a corrupt video or image file. What is the exact error you are seeing? What version of OS X are you using and what type of processor do you have?
